One thing I've learnt since starting full time employment in the early 90's (yes that long ago) is to remember those you work well with and the external partners you build working relationships with. You never know when in a new role you may need a graphic designer, web developer or POS printer who can turn around work quickly. Keep up to date with your networking, business forums, LinkedIn, connect with external partners.
I've worked with many agencies, suppliers and account managers over the years and it's key to remember them when you move to a new employer. I can design a logo, create social graphics but I'm no graphic designer, so when it comes to a corporate brochure I work with freelance graphic designers whom I've worked with for many years and also a design agency. I can manage your print buying, arrange the design of your brochure, create the brief for design and manage the process from start to finish for you.
Now more than ever as budgets get cut, overheads need to be reduced and workforces streamlined, looking at freelancers and flexible services is a way forward to ensure your business stays with or better still in front of the competition. Outsource your marketing requirements, the benefit of a marketing manager on a flexible service model without the fixed salary.
